In Nigeria, Lots of people don't believe in hiring professional event-planners. They feel that their family can very easily do all that which they would "waste" money paying an event planner for. They have this notion that event-planners are really expensive. But i have good-news for you, there are now a lot of event-planners to choose from in the industry now, and most of them are suprisingly cheap. Look for planners that respect their 'name' and wouldn't want to tarnish it. Let's face it, some planners do not care, as long as they will get paid. They dont care what happens after the event. They fail to see the big-picture, that if the co-ordination was good or bad, people will eventually want to know who planned the event. They forget that 'word-of-mouth' is necessary in advertising.

Look for planners that geniunely care about their clients, it shows that they'll go the extra mile for you, even if it means tapping into their own profit.
